Narelle Ward

Narelle Ward has over 20 years experience in office administration and management.

As the Oil Response Company of Australia’s (ORCA) Administration and Finance Manager Narelle is responsible to the Chief Executive Officer for the day-to-day administrative and financial management of the company’s activities.

Ms Ward has been involved with most Tier 1 oil spill incidents that have occurred in Victoria since 2004 in logistics and administration support roles.  She participates in operational activities undertaken by ORCA, including the receipt and actioning of pollution of pollution reports from clients for whom ORCA provides an on-site spill response service.

Narelle is responsible for all company administrative and financial matters associated with spill response operations, including the consolidation of costs to support cost-recovery processes.

On a day-to-day basis she is responsible for all administrative management activities associated with ORCA.  This includes addressing and managing bookkeeping, payroll, superannuation, accounts payable and receivable tasks and the provision of travel and accommodation arrangements for ORCA personnel.

Ms Ward is responsible for coordinating the participation of ORCA staff in spill response training activities; this involves liaising with clients to ensure that their requirements are being met.

In 2008 and 2009 she participated in a number of major training exercises in Victoria, including Exercise Port Phillip in Melbourne where she was the Incident Management Team’s Finance and Administration Officer and Exercise Hastings in Western Port.

Ms Ward is the Finance and Administration on the IMT that ORCA provides to Marine Safety Victoria (MSV) by way of contractual arrangements between ORCA and MSV.

She is also a member of ORCA’s oil spill response IMT that is available nationwide to provide support to government and industry agencies affected by a major oil spill.
